Born in Steubenville, Ohio, and raised in Toronto, Ohio, I graduated from Toronto High School in 1962. At the ripe age of 19, I moved from Ohio to Washington D.C. where I worked for the Handwriting Laboratory of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. I met my first husband while living in Washington D.C., who was a career Navy man. The marriage took us to Boston, Massachusetts; Naples, Italy; Annapolis, Maryland, where our two sons were born; and Yokosuko, Japan.
I also lived in Lake Dallas, Texas, for twenty years, prior to moving to Hot Springs Village. In 2002, I moved from the Village to Vicksburg, Michigan, where I reconnected with my high school sweetheart, Jim Ansell. Jim was a Realtor at that time and encouraged me to get my real estate license. This is a profession that I wanted to get into and I was thankful that he was there for me when it finally happened. After passing the Real Estate Exam and getting my license, I started to work with Jim as a team, and we worked very, very well together.
Both of us have the same philosophy in real estate, focusing on "Excellent Customer Service", rather than sales. Although sales are important, we believe that the home sells the buyer, not the Realtor selling the home. After my two years in Michigan, Jim got a hankering to move to Hot Springs Village. He fell in love with it during our trips south to visit with family. So, we made the move here on October 10, 2004. Jim, being a retired police officer from Kalamazoo, Michigan, he took a job in the Village as a policeman and is still active in that field. Me on the other hand still wanted to pursue real estate, so I took a class in Arkansas Law and was able to transfer my license from Michigan to Arkansas.
