Keeping Your Kitchen In Shape For Showings

Kitchen can often be the “catch all” area of a home. Families gather there for many reasons. This can cause an abundance of clutter that can make the whole area a danger zone. Creating storage areas using decorative bins or baskets will help contain the items that often get strewn about the room.
Marie Kondo, while she has revisited her thoughts on clutter, her philosophy about items bringing joy to oneself and if the item does not bring joy then you should remove it from your life is still a premise you can take some advice from. This is a somewhat drastic way of decluttering a space but you can take a piece of this advice by asking yourself if the items you have in your kitchen are used often or if they are just gathering dust. If you decide that some of the items in your kitchen do deserve to be donated to either to a family member in need or charity then that is a perfect solution to clearing your counters and cabinets. Items that you do not use often but still find a purpose for should be stored in your cabinets or in another location. A nice clean counter with minimal items on them gives the impression that the viewer can imagine their own stuff contained in those areas.
Another issue that gets overlooked if you have a cluttered counter or space then it is hard to keep that area clean. Prospective buyers do not want to see a dusty corner or a coffee pot that has old coffee in it. These small indiscretions can make a big impression on how buyers look at your home.
You have to be aware that people viewing your home may open cabinets and pantries so organization within these areas is important as well. By placing groups of lie items in individual baskets or bins that are labeled will not only keep your cabinets organized but it will present a nice picture of how well the space in your kitchen can be utilized. As a bonus as you live in your home you can enjoy how clear and decluttered your kitchen will become.
